Home Buying 16If you’re looking for a large spacious home with plenty of room to raise a family, then chances are you’ve considered the Raleigh, NC real estate market.

That’s according to a recent survey that ranked Raleigh in the top 10 in the nation for largest homes.

Given all of the incredible major cities across the country, we’re proud that Raleigh has earned this distinction. Continue reading to learn more about this trend and what it means for interested buyers.

A Closer Look at The Recent Real Estate Study

According to the article I recently read, financial website 24/7 Wall St. recently ranked cities based on data from Realtor.com on median square footage in the 200 largest core-based statistical areas.

Raleigh appeared on the list and has the distinction of being one of the less densely populated areas in the report. After all, there are less than 1,900 people per square mile here.

And yet, the median square footage is 1,871, which is almost the same as Atlantas.

Here’s the complete list of cities with the largest homes, with median square footage in parentheses.

  1. Provo-Orem, Utah (1,980)
  2. Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, Texas (1,900)
  3. Colorado Springs, Colorado (1,899)
  4. Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, Georgia (1,872)
  5. Raleigh (1,871)
  6. Boulder, Colorado (1,865)
  7. Greeley, Colorado (1,854)
  8. Fort Collins, Colorado (1,851)
  9. Austin-Round Rock, Texas (1,837)
  10. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas (1,828)
