Why Baby Boomers Are Expected to Located to Raleigh

  • According to the recent article I was reading, Baby Boomers may be attracted to Raleigh for a variety of reasons, including:
    Lower cost of living
    Strong economics
    Ample amenities to enjoy

And being an attractive place for Baby Boomers is no small accomplishment. After all, according to US Census researchers, there will be 60 million boomer between the ages of 66 and 84 by the year 2030.

Thus, this is a major cohort and is likely to have a substantial impact on any real estate market they decide to settle in en masse.

Not granted, the NAR said it expects many Baby Boomers to “age in place,” and stay where they’ve always lived.

But here are those cities that the NAR think will be most popular among Baby Boomers to migrate to in the next several years:

  • .Albuquerque, New Mexico
  • Boise, Idaho
  • Denver
  • Fort Myers, Florida
  • Greenville, South Carolina
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Phoenix
  • Raleigh, North Carolina
