Congrats are in order for several Wake County area communities that recently ranked on Movoto’s Top 10 Affordable NC Cities list.
Would you believe that five of the communities listed are part of the Triangle region? Incredible!
These communities stand out not only for being an affordable place to live but also providing a high quality of life at the same time.
So Which Triangle Area Communities Made The List?
The communities of Knightdale, Garner, Holly Springs, Cary and Clayton all made appearances on the Top 10 Affordable NC Communities list.
Movoto Real Estate explained that editors looked at all placed in the state with populations of more than 10,000 people. That left them with only 83 places. Then they ranked those places on such criteria as:
- Food costs
- Utility costs
- Median home price
- Unemployment rank
- Adjusted median income
Here’s the Top 10 list in its entirety:
- Town of Indian Trail
- Town of Stallings
- Town of Knightdale
- City of Monroe
- City of Thomasville
- Town of Garner
- Town of Holly Springs
- Town of Lewisville
- Town of Cary
- Town of Clayton
What Movoto Said About Each of These Triangle Communities
Knightdale: This community is one of the youngest in the Triangle area, with the median age 30. Movoto noted that not only that, but this community is also one of the most affordable! Perfect for young families!
Garner: This fast growing community, which had a population of about 25,745 people as of the 2010 Census, has a cost of living score of 96, which is really good since the national average is 100.
Holly Springs: Although this community has an overall cost of living score of 107, the adjusted median income helps balance that out.
Cary: This community also boasts a fairly good affordability score thanks to its high median household income.
Clayton: This community of 16,000 residents is rich in its heritage but affordable in its home prices. Now that’s a great deal!
And here’s something else you may not know about some of these communities: Garner and Cary also recently appeared on Movoto’s Best Places in North Carolina list. Now that really speaks volumes to what desirable places to live they are!
