What This Recent Accolade Means to Home Buyers
According to the recent article I was reading, the American Physical Therapy Association and Huff/Post50 recently conducted a survey and released its results.
Evidently, cities were rated on life expectancy, cardiovascular health and reported stress levels of baby boomers. They were also rated on access to local health care and fitness resources.
Here’s how Raleigh stacked up:
- About 48 percent of the population has been diagnosed with hypertension, which is 4.8 percent lower than the national average
- Of the top 10 cities, Raleigh has one of the lowest hospital mortality rates, which is more than 6 percent below the national average.
- 48 percent of the population has been diagnosed with high cholesterol, which is 3.7 percent lower than the average for all of the other cities on the survey.
- Of the top 10 cities, Raleigh’s population is most satisfied, with 97 percent reporting being satisfied or very satisfied with their life.
According to researchers, this survey was conducted to determine where baby boomers should live if they want to stay healthy and fit as they age.
